About this collection

Setons and SPURS Scrapbooks, 1951 – 2001

This collection contains scanned images of every page from the Spurs/Setons scrapbooks. It covers the academic years from 1951 to 2001. These scrapbooks show the various activities of the group and letters of recognition. When available, metadata includes names of the membership for Spurs/Setons and the Knights, the service group for sophomore men. Personal information has not been scanned.

The Spurs began in October 1951 as part of the national organization of Spurs, a national college women’s service group affiliated with the Intercollegiate Knights. In November 1989, the group decided to break from the National Spurs to function more effectively. They adopted the name “Setons” after St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, who was the foundress of the Sisters of Charity and because of her example of leadership and service.

You can search by word to find a specific person, topic, or event. You can also browse the entire scrapbook page by page.
