Title	Luger Field : construction
Description	Construction of a soccer field west of the Martin Centre began in spring 2008, and the new Gonzaga Soccer Field hosted its first match, a women's game against Portland State University, on August 24, 2008. On July 10, 2014, the field was officially dedicated as Luger Field in honor of the Luger family whose members include two generations of alumni, including three Jesuits, and a former chairman of the Gonzaga Board of Trustees, John, who, with his wife, Donna, was a major donor to the project. The field includes a playing field and a practice field, as well a drainage system to alleviate the occasional swamp effect of the nearby Spokane River. Construction on the complex will continue with additional fundraising, adding stadium lighting, a main grandstand, and permanent locker rooms, restrooms, and concessions facilities.
